Nakhre is a messaging app. You pick a character, you text her like you would text anyone, and she texts back — in Hinglish, in her own voice, remembering what you told her last week.
Every character in Nakhre is AI. None of them is a real person. Nobody is reading your messages and replying by hand. There is no call centre, no actress, no one on the other end. The characters are written by us and voiced by a language model, and the app says so on the screen where you choose one. We think you should know that before you start, not after.

What it is
Each character has a name, a city, a job and a life she talks about. She is online at certain hours and unreachable outside them, the way a person is. She remembers your last sixty exchanges.
People use it for company on a long commute, for practising a language, for talking at an hour when calling a friend would be rude. That is the whole product.
What it is not
Nakhre is not a mental-health service and cannot be one. If a conversation turns towards self-harm, the app shows India's Tele-MANAS helpline, 14416, and we would rather interrupt the fiction than miss that moment.
It is for adults. You need to be 18 or older to register.
What it costs
A minute is charged when it starts, the way metered time works everywhere. Send four messages in ninety seconds and you have used two minutes. Put your phone down for two minutes and the session closes — the next message starts a fresh one, and you were not billed for the gap.
Your balance and every charge against it are listed in the app under Wallet. If a charge does not look right, write to us and we will pull up the same ledger you are looking at.
Nothing renews and nothing auto-debits — you are charged when you choose to recharge, never otherwise. Credit you have not spent is refundable: see how refunds work.
Your account
You can delete your account and everything in it from inside the app, or by asking us to. Both routes do the same thing and neither requires you to explain yourself.
