Privacy policy

What we know about you, and why

Effective 21 September 2026 · Applies to the Nakhre Android app (com.nakhre.app) and this website

This policy is written to be read, not to be survived. If something here is unclear, write to us and we will explain it in plain words — and fix the wording.

Nakhre is operated by Mediarun Digital Private Limited, F-14 Friends Colony, Delhi, India. In this policy "we" means that company, and "you" means the person using the app.

Collection

What we collect

Everything the app stores about you. There is no other category.
WhatWhy we need itKept until
Phone number It is how you sign in. We never see your password because there isn't one — you receive a one-time code by SMS. We also use it to text you about your account, a payment, and occasionally about Nakhre itself — free Love Coins, an offer, a new character — which you agreed to when you registered (see the terms). Write to us and we stop the promotional ones. We never sell it or hand it to anyone for their own marketing. You delete your account. See what survives deletion.
Name, age, gender, preferred language You give these once at registration. Age because the app is 18+; language so characters reply in the one you chose. You delete your account.
Your messages and the replies So a conversation continues where it left off. The most recent exchanges are sent back to the language model as context. You delete your account, or delete the individual chat.
What each character remembers about you A short note per character, written from your conversations with her, so she can pick up where you left off instead of starting blank every time. Each character keeps her own note and cannot see another's — the same way two friends know different things about you. You delete your account, or delete that conversation.
Balance and charge history To bill correctly and to answer you when you ask why something cost what it did. You delete your account, except where tax law requires us to keep a transaction record.
How you use the app Which screens you open, which character you picked, when a chat started, when a top-up succeeded or failed — counts and timings, never the words. It is how we find out that a screen is confusing or that a payment is failing for people who never write to us. It carries your account id so one person's journey can be told apart from another's; it never carries your name, phone number or anything you or a character typed. See how we measure the app. Held by the measurement providers below on their own schedule (months, not years), not in our database. Deleting your account removes you from our records but does not reach back into theirs — write to us and we will ask them to erase what is tied to your account id.
Messages you report When you long-press something a character said and report it, we store that reply, the reason you chose, and your account id. The account id is there so a person can come back to you about it, and so we can tell a character behaving badly apart from one account trying to provoke her into it. These outlive your account, on purpose. A report is a record of what a character said, and deleting the complaint along with the complainant would let a real problem disappear the moment someone walks away. Nothing in a report identifies you beyond that id.

What we do not collect. The app does not read your contacts, location, camera, microphone, photos or other apps. We do not sell or rent your data to anybody, for any purpose. We do measure how the app is used — that is the row above, and it is described in full below.

Your advertising ID, and the one thing it is for. The app does read the advertising ID Android gives it, and uses it to answer a single question: which advertisement of ours, if any, you saw before you installed. That answer goes to AppsFlyer, and from AppsFlyer back to the network the advertisement ran on, so that we stop paying for advertising nobody responds to. It is not used to build a profile of you, and it is not used to target advertising at you — the app shows no advertisements at all. Android lets you reset it, or switch it off entirely, under Settings → Privacy → Ads.

Processing

Your messages and the AI

This is the part worth reading twice, because it is the part people assume rather than check.

To generate a reply, we send the character's written persona, your recent messages in that chat, and your new message to a language-model provider. That provider generates the reply text and returns it. We use:

These providers process your message text to produce a reply. We do not send them your phone number, your name or your balance. Which provider is active can change as we improve reply quality; this page names all of them and will be updated before any addition goes live.

Your conversations are not used to train our own models — we do not train models. We do not read your chats for entertainment, and staff access is limited to investigating a specific problem you have reported to us or a safety incident.

Replies we keep to check our own quality

We keep a copy of the replies our characters generate, recorded with the character and the model that produced them — and with nothing that identifies you. No account id, no phone number, and not the message you sent. It is a collection of things our characters have said, not a record of anyone's conversations, and there is no way to trace an entry back to the person it was written for.

We use it to judge whether a character sounds right and whether a new model is better than the one we run today. Because it is not linked to you, it is not affected when you delete your account.

Third parties

Who else handles your data

How we measure the app

Three measurement tools run inside the app. They see how you move around it, and where you came from. None of them sees what you say. A fourth runs on our home page only, and is described after these three.

All three are tagged with your account id, so we can follow one person's path through a problem. That id is not your name or your number, and none of the three is given either. We use this to fix the app and to know which advertising is worth paying for — never to resell your data, and never to build a profile of you that is sold on.

How we measure this website

Google Analytics runs on our home page — the one page on this site that an advertisement links to. It counts visits and records which advertisement, if any, sent you: the campaign name carried in the link you followed, your approximate location from your IP address, and your browser and device type. It does not know who you are, because on that page you have not told us — there is nothing to sign in to.

It runs on that page only. This policy, our terms, the refund page, the purchase page and the account-deletion page carry no analytics of any kind and make no request to Google. That is deliberate: a privacy policy that reports you to a third party for reading it is not one worth publishing.

If you install the app after following an advertisement, the campaign name from that link is passed to the app by Google Play so we can tell which advertising is worth paying for. It is a campaign label — something like utm_campaign=nakhre_sep — and it says nothing about you.

Your account data is stored in India. Reply generation may be processed outside India depending on where the model provider serves the request.

Deletion

What survives deletion, and why

When you delete your account we erase your profile, your chats, your balance and your ledger. Two things are kept, and we would rather state them plainly than bury them:

A one-way hash of your phone number is kept permanently. It is a SHA-256 fingerprint, not the number itself, and it cannot be turned back into your number. Alongside it we keep a masked form (+919***8989) so our support team can find the record if you ask us about it.

It exists for one reason: the 250 Love Coin welcome bonus is granted once per phone number, for all time. Without this record, deleting and re-registering would be an unlimited supply of free Love Coins, and we would have to stop offering it to anyone.

This record does not stop you from signing up again. It only means a second signup does not receive a second welcome credit.

Messages you reported are kept. If you flagged something a character said, that report — the reply, your reason, and your account id — stays after your account is gone.

A report is a record of what we got wrong, not of what you did. Deleting the complaint along with the person who made it is how a genuine problem quietly disappears, and it would leave us unable to show anyone what was said or that we acted on it.

Also

Age, security and changes

Adults only

Nakhre is for people aged 18 and over. We ask your age at registration. If we learn an account belongs to a minor we delete it. If you believe a child is using the app, tell us at info@mediarun.co.in.

Security

Traffic is encrypted in transit. Our database refuses all direct client access — the app can only reach data through our server, which checks who you are on every request. No system is perfect; if we ever suffer a breach affecting you, we will tell you and the Data Protection Board.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle your data, we update the effective date at the top and, for anything significant, tell you in the app before it takes effect. We will not quietly start doing something this page says we do not do.
